Bowen- & Emmett Therapy
Qi Gong
Bowen therapy is a gentle, minimal-touch treatment.

It is working with the signalling through the fascia
to detect and remove blockages, thereby facilitating healing in the body.
To quote from my very first Bowtech instruction manual (BTAA, 2013):
"The Bowen technique is a dynamic system of muscle and connective tissue therapy (...).
It is sometimes called the 'homeopathy of bodywork'.

It uses small but measured inputs to the body stimulating the body to heal itself, often profoundly. (This) usually results in the relief of many specific injuries and other health problems, both acute and chronic. It does so holistically, by using the body's innate healing mechanisms.

The practitioner delivers signal to the nervous system at specific locations (on muscles, tendons, ligaments, or nerves) and the body does the rest, responding in its own time, as it is able. "

Another favourite quote of mine illuminates a bit more the big-picture work a good Bowen Therapist will endeavour to do, and the potential complexity of issues at hand.
From John Wilks - the bowen technique, the inside story (2007):

"Being an efficient Bowen therapist means being something of a Sherlock Holmes when it comes to ascertaining where the origins of someone's condition stems. (...) Influences on how we hold ourselves come in all shapes and sizes - genetic, environmental, accidents, operations, emotional, spiritual and beyond."
